The PDST (Professional Development Service for Teachers) WellRead National Award aims to promote the development of a reading culture in school communities as research has shown that this supports the personal and academic development of young people.
At Portumna Community School, we are committed to promoting reading for pleasure. Reading-related activities occur throughout the school year, including events such as DEAR (Drop Everything and Read), Literacy Week, the Scholastic Book Fair and many more!
